Hello, I'm Rebecca Mara.

Hello, I'm Rebecca Mara.  I use bodywork, energy healing and intuitive coaching to create empowering transformation in the body, mind and energy systems, all of which are inseparable. My goal is to be a catalyst in returning you to your healthiest, most connected, and authentically joyful self. This involves me looking for the root of imbalance and how it shows up in the soma and soul: noticing how it may contribute to bracing, tension or vigilance in the nervous system/body, how it affects your breathing, relationships to self and others, posture, as well as the impact on emotional patterns, beliefs, and psychological habits- all a parts of the web relating to how we experience life through our bodies. With your help I then bring caring support and resource to the imbalance in this root pattern so that it can be transformed and healed. While working with you to release deep layers of tension, I teach empowering tools to integrate into your daily practice in order to "crowd out" the negative patterning with resource.  When we do this, we are able to transform your baseline, daily experience of yourself and the world around you into a richer, more connected experience of yourself and the world- one that you previously may not have realized was possible. I find that change in the body, nervous system, energy body and psyche is much more deeply integrated we are willing to look at the parts that are painful, challenging, shamed, or rejected as well as your hidden gifts, strengths, and the inherent perfection and sacredness of what is here in the moment.

In working with me, your experience can range from very subtle to very profound, depending on how deep you'd like to go.  You may only need to experience relief from long-term muscle pain in a deep-tissue massage, or you might feel the divine in the room as you heal from a childhood wound that was buried long ago.  Anything is possible, but most people who spend at least some time doing energy work in their session report feeling much more connected to themselves, or as I often hear, you may feel "like a new person', which to me means: you feel like your true self.  The space unencumbered by ego, limiting beliefs, negative thought forms and tension, is like waters that were once rippled or turbulent and became clear and still: the reflection of the true Self can be revealed, the essence emerges, creation flows freely and there is a feeling of wholeness, connection and ground.

My background:  I grew up having experiences of the sacred since I was a child.  A combination of a thirst for more of these experiences of union with the divine as well as a desire to heal great suffering I saw in my lineage put me on a quest to understand who we really are and what is possible. I began studying the healing arts as teen, at which time I discovered Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, yogic philosophy and the human energy field.  All of these teachings pointed me in the direction of discovering who we really are and what it means to be spirit in human form.

My studies began in 1996 at Blue Sky Massage School where I learned Ayurveda, Energy Healing and Massage. I then moved to New Mexico to study more Ayurveda, and discovered that I could feel other people's emotions in my hands when I touched them. This scared me at this time, so I decided to follow a more scientific approach and study Western medicine and then Traditional Chinese Medicine and at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. During an 8-year break in the finance world, I became a Kundalini Yoga Instructor through the Spirit Rising Foundation in Chicago and then moved to Colorado and became a Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. After leaving the finance world, I studied massage at both the Boulder College of Massage Therapy and Thai Massage at the Denver Integrative Massage School.  I was then chosen to be trained in a one-on-one, 6-month mentorship as an Ayurvedic Panchakarma Therapist (choreographed, tandem, Ayurvedic detoxification treatments) at the world-renowned Dr. Douillard's Life Spa, where people came from all over the world to be healed of their illnesses by detoxifying their bodies and minds with Ayurvedic panchakarma treatments. I completed three years of training in an intuitive coaching, psychotherapy and energy work program, where I learned to sense consciousness in the human energy field and to transform limiting beliefs and emotions, guiding people to a place where they can discover and embody their highest selves. In addition, I have trained in Barbara Brennan's techniques, craniosacral therapy, reiki, chakra balancing, Taoist arts, Authentic Relating Practice, neurolinguistic programming, and Access Consciousness.  I studied Intuitive Reading at High Heart Healing and the Boulder Psychic Center, and I'm currently studying Sandra Ingerman's shamanic arts training with Rachel Weitz.  Despite all of these trainings, I can say that I have learned almost all of what I do in sessions from working with so many wonderful clients, from working with Spirit and from my own personal experiences.

My life's work has unfolded from quite an extraordinary journey with many "hard to believe until you experience it" stories with angels, spirit guides and divine union, yet my work is humble, gentle and honest, embracing then sacredness and beauty of our fragility and humanity.  Although people may, at times experience something quite beautiful and profound in sessions, it is important to know that the reason why I am able to meet whatever you bring to the session with a strong, safe container, with sweetness and care, without judgment, and with complete confidence in the perfection in your experience is because I am just like you.  I may not have had the exact same experiences you have had, but I have experienced all of the emotions you have and see us as the same, in the end.  All of the fears, doubts, and core wounds you've experienced have also, in one way or another, been woven into the fabric and story of every human being's life.  My greatest gift is that I have learned to sit in the fire of my own suffering until I am able to love what appears to be darkness, and see its light fully.  I feel great compassion and sweetness for our human condition: for the ways we attempt to protect ourselves from what seems like a threat, for our fears, for our sadness, for the parts we think aren't good enough or couldn't possibly be loved and for the parts that are too afraid to let go.  I have found that our suffering is our greatest gift when we learn to give love, tenderness and and caring attention to the parts of us that feel the most wounded.  Once you walk through the fire of what scares you the most, what you find is that you already are everything you ever hoped for, longed for, dreamt of.  It's here, now.  And now you are open to receive great depths of love, union, bliss, and peaceful fulfillment, and to share it with others.

I look forward to working with you, to holding space for what parts want to be seen, to catalyzing whatever would like to unfold:)  If you'd like to read what others have said of my work, my testimonials are here: http://www.somadimindbody.com/testimonials-2/
